TKS Vodafone requested Divitel to implement on-the-fly packaging in their Broadpeak CDN and Verimatrix Multi-DRM to support multiple video delivery formats. The challenge was ensuring the new CDN configuration would meet performance requirements and work well with other technology components, and critically, preventing service interruptions that could negatively impact the viewing experience after go-live.

Die Lösung

Divitel applied a data-driven testing strategy to create insights about the platform's performance with regards to capacity, reliability and availability in a production-like environment before launch. This approach replaced manual testing procedures and enabled proactive identification of a CDN performance deficiency before it could reach production.

So sind wir vorgegangen

   Data pipeline setup

   Created a data pipeline and installed the necessary data forwarders for near real-time analytics across all platform components.

   Cloud simulation

   Deployed a cloud simulation tool to mimic real subscriber behaviour and set performance thresholds to evaluate CDN and DRM behaviour under load.

   Issue detection

   When simulated traffic increased, the CDN did not function according to requirements, a critical deficiency identified before it could impact production viewers.

   Root cause & vendor coordination

   Analysed the data, identified the root cause, and coordinated with the corresponding vendor to implement a resolution.

5. 5

   Verification

   After the vendor implemented their fix, repeated the full test suite to verify the resolution before installation in the live environment.
